Is Sewing Your Super Power?
We have a very special mission, if you choose to accept it, to create medical-grade masks over the course of a single week that will benefit a number of real-life heroes. Specifically, we’re looking for experienced sewers who can create well-stitched masks on a single-needle sewing machine using materials and instructions provided to you.
The Village is partnering with Worthwhile Wear, a non-profit organization that supports local survivors of human trafficking through its Worthwhile Apparel initiative. This organization has been hired to produce 10,000 masks specifically for front-line medical workers serving in nursing homes across our country. Their normal means of production are not available during this time. We, the church, are stepping forward to support this urgent cause.
1.) Determine the number of masks you can make in one week and sign up using the button below.
2.) Pick up supplies from the church parking lot / portico on May 18th, between 3 - 6 PM.
3.) Sew the masks according to the quality-control instructions provided.
4.) Return the completed masks to the church parking lot / portico on Tuesday May 26th between 3 - 6 PM.
5.) Know that your superpower has benefitted two groups of heroes: those serving on our medical front-lines as well as those who survived the trauma of human trafficking.
Thank you for using your powers for good!
