August 30 @ 8:00 am - October 15 @ 5:00 pm

Our church, in cooperation with the larger Nazarene organization that we belong to including Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NMI) and Nazarene Disaster Response (NDR), is staging and supplying relief efforts across the South to provide both practical and spiritual help. We are partnering with them as they move supplies into warehouses and local churches in critical regions before disaster strikes and as they provide Crisis Care Kits and recovery support after the storm has passed.
Beyond what we’re already doing, we have developed a plan to provide assistance in a variety of ways – all within the direction and advice from those on the ground. First, we all need to PRAY. Pray for those impacted by both Harvey and Irma, especially the most vulnerable, like people with disabilities, seniors and children. Pray for those on the ground responding to immediate needs.
Second, GIVE what you can. Our first team will travel to Houston from September 24th – October 1st to “muck and gut” homes and other affected buildings. Under specific direction, that will not interfere with insurance claims, this team will be sludging and removing drywall before mold sets in. Those interested in joining this traveling team should contact Pastor Kelly. To support them, you can make an online donation through our Giving Page. Once in the portal, choose the Hurricane Relief Fund. Checks can also be written to FVCN with ‘Hurricane Relief’ in the memo line and placed in the offering basket or brought to the church office. If you would like to make a one-time contribution to Hurricane Relief you may use the Guest Giving option at the bottom of this page.
All monies received through the church will first cover expenses of the trip, then any excess will be used to help with shipping costs associated with Crisis Care Kits.
Also, you can give directly to the Hurricane Response effort through NMI using this link: https://give.nazarene.org/donate/f/128206
Third, SHOP for Crisis Care Kit supplies and bring them to the church between September 9th and 22nd. We can only accept items on the specific list. We will not collect anything else.
Fourth, plan to ATTEND our Assembly and Packing Event on Friday, September 22nd at 6:30 PM where we will coordinate all the supplies gathered and pack them into much needed Crisis Care Kits.
