Next Steps

Come and follow me... Matthew 4:19

A Step at a time

There are dozens of Bible passages that talk of following Jesus Christ, and in those verses are many steps outlined on how we can do that. Growing our relationship with God takes intention and care. We all have steps to take in our own faith and below are several of them that help grow our relationship with Christ. Here at The Village, we want to help you grow closer to Him as we continue to journey along with you.

Trust Jesus

Trust Jesus

Each of us can become a life changed by Christ. Start experiencing new life today and for eternity.

  • Admit that you have sinned.
Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
  • Believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins.
Romans 5:8 "But God demonstates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
  • Choose the gift of forgiveness and new life.
Romans 10:9 "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart the God rased Him from the dead, you will be saved."

Starting Point

Starting Point Class

The Starting Point Class is your next step if you are new to faith, curious about God, or coming back to church after some time away. It consists of three 1-hour classes that meet on Sunday morning. You will learn about the church's history, beliefs, values and mission.  This is a place where your opinions and beliefs are valued, and where all questions are invited.

"The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." 2 Timothy 2:2

Believer's Baptism

Water Baptism

Baptism is the public expression of your faith in Christ and is a way to show others in both the church and the community, that you are all in as His follower. If you have put your trust in Jesus, and have not been baptized, then baptism is your next step.  Baptism is also one way we are able to hear stories of lives changed from within our walls and celebrate what God is doing in His kingdom.

"Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19

Get Connected

Get Connected

We believe that we are stronger together. No matter your stage of life or where you are on your journey, joining a Connect Group is a great way to connect with others from The Village. A Connect Group meets regularly to connect with God, connect with each other, and connect with our community.

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Acts 2:42

Serve

Volunteer

We believe that changed people care for people, and we grow best when we are caring for others. Through serving, you'll help create welcoming environments where God can change lives. Everywhere you go at Fairview Village Church, you will see people serving and becoming more like Jesus. While we all have different strengths, find which serving opportunities are best fit for you.

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10

Give

Giving

As God changes our lives, we have an opportunity to respond to him by practicing generosity. We believe it is important to trust God with every area of our life, including our finances. Through giving, we show God that we love Him and trust Him. We get to be a part of caring for others and help introduce more people to Jesus. If giving is your next step, but you are not sure how to get started, consider taking the 90-Day Tithing Challenge.

"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it." Malachi 3:10
